"If you live in New York City and you want to learn how to race a bicycle, TEAM NYVELOCITY.COM is the best place to start."
-Rob Grover
"I have made huge gains this year working with with Coach Francisco, who has helped me a ton and focused on base training in a periodization framework. He really knows a lot about fitness, training and cycling and has been a great asset and coach for the NYVC team. He is also a super nice guy."
-Kyle Peppo
"NYVC is an incredibly supportive environment for those of us crazy enough to get involved in bike racing! Training with the team has helped me set goals and challenge myself, build confidence, prioritize my health, and work as part of a team; and all these qualities have been translated into improvements in other aspects of my life."
-Heidi Reijm

"The world of cycling can be quite insular; this experience (of being on the team) was about the best introduction to cycling I could have wished for. An unexpected benefit was losing twenty-three pounds and improving my diet."
–Ken Schneider
"Being on this team makes you feel like you're at the center of the NY cycling world, they always seem to know what is going on where and who is who. Everybody knows them and respects them in the scene and some of that rubs of on you as soon as you put on that jersey. For me that meant a lot, because the cycling community here is tough to connect with"
-Craig Richmond
"So you've done the SIG, you've ridden with A's, and now you're looking for something even more challenging. So why not try racing? I always said I wouldn't and yet somehow, last fall, I found myself lured by NYvelocity's posting seeking new teammates. It's been an eye opener: how to drop weight and go faster by riding slower, how to climb better by hardly climbing. Go figure... At first I didn’t understand, but I soon caught on, and it does work. I also learned that racing is a hell of a lot of fun! So don't wait, check it out instead of just wondering what it's like."
-Ted Shaw. Longtime NYCC member
"The NYVC team has been really great for me: the team’s ideas and positive thoughts are always appreciated, and of course being coached has helped me a lot. It has truly optimized my workouts with the very difficult schedule I have and I think we have squeezed the most out of my time. The coach has also been great to talk to about race tactics and workouts. I have also had lots of fun riding/racing with the other team-members; there are some really great guys/girls on the team. And it is always fun to meet other light blue uniforms on the road for a ride."
-Per Rosenkvist
"The season with Nyvelocity has been simply amazing. It was an epic. I can now see myself being successful and looking back there is no way I could have done it by myself. It was really great to hear "nyvelocity" screamed so many times by the MC at Green mountain. I'm seriously looking forward to the next season."
- David Trumpf
I started racing in the summer of 2006 but soon found myself turning off the alarm clock on the mornings of races. The problem was I was clueless about training and and a bit lost as an unattached rider, which only became clear after I'd been riding with the NYvelocity team for a while. A year later, I've made substantial gains in riding strength and have gotten a good taste of what it's like to work with a team during a race. I have a whole new level of confidence and a much richer appreciation for racing, and I attribute that to following our team's training program and to riding with this great group of riders week after week.
- Clay Thurmond

"TEAM NYVELOCITY.COM represents exactly the kind of team Cadence wants to support: they promote the sport of cycling in a beneficial and open-armed way. They have innovative and educational programs that invite rather than intimidate newcomers to the sport."
-Matt Heitmann, president of Cadence Cycling & Multisport Centers.

From our friends at IChallangeMyself.com
On behalf of I Challenge Myself youth participants, staff and board of trustees, I want to thank team NyVelocity. The 2006-2007 School Year marks a critical phase in ICM’s development as we expand from one to three programs, and from serving 30 to 90 youth per year at four program sites instead of one. In addition to the two Bicycle Tours programs, which train students for their first century ride, we are launching an off-road bicycle touring program designed to promote self-development (physical, mental and social), specific bicycle touring skills, and the ability to work with others and make connections to diverse communities. This new program prepares students for a self contained over night bike tour where students will be carrying their gear on their bikes, camping out and kayaking or canoeing during their tour.
The generous funds raised through the sale of NYC Velocity calendars will go directly towards supporting the 3 bicycle programs, which includes purchasing mountain bikes and touring and camping equipment for our new Bicycle Adventure Tours program.
Thanks Again,
Ana Reyes
